The BISGEOS 12 MILE RUN/WALK seems to establish itself as a yearly
event. Again we had over 200 participants enjoying a special
day on this beautiful island.

We started the day at the RAPNESS-PIER, giving
the go ahead" to runners and walkers shortly after
the ferry arrived from the mainland.
The 12 mile course took us across WESTRAY with its beautiful
sights up to the BISGEOS, where JOHN and his team had venison-burghers
, sausages and rabbit on the barbaque, to replenish the energystores
after the strenous last mile climb to the BISGEOS.
The fastest runner was DUNCAN, further improving his last years
winning time by 2 minutes (to 1 hour and 18 minutes).

Geordie entertained the "athletes" with
song and guitar into the afternoon.
At night ALISON had a
fantastic buffet prepared in the island-hall with wild salmon,
venison, crab and lots of Westray specials dished up. Later
John with his local band played the music for the traditional
dances and created a fantastic atmosphere enjoyed by nearly 200
people in the sold-out hall.

We managed to raise £10,700 handed over to the MS-Care
in Orkney. Amazing what the forward-going spirit of this small
island can achieve.
If you are interested in joining us for next years event, you
can either book via the BISGEOS website or phone Lizza and Jenna
of HUME SWEET HUME on 01857 677259 .
Hope to see you later in 2007.
Yours Sincerely
Werner
